William Charles Hunt

William was born in 1881 and lived at Ferry Cottage, Lower Street Walton with his wife Bessie nee Evans and daughter Lizzie (Elizabeth Ellen). In 1911 he was working as a Maltsters Labourer. His parents were James Hunt and Emma nee Pettitt who lived at Dock Cottages in Felixstowe. William had six siblings, four brothers - Cornelius b. 1878, Bertie b. 1885, Frank b. 1889 and Arthur b. 1895 and two sisters - Edith b. 1886 and Ellen b. 1894.

He was a Private in 15th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. He died from wounds following an accident on 25th April 1918, age 37 while the battalion were preparing to move to France.  He is buried at Kantara War Memorial Cemetery in Egypt.
