Born Fareham in 1915, the eldest son of Clifford Freeman and Florence Nightingale nee Darking. In 1938 Philip married Violet Doreen Dawson. In 1939 Violet is recorded as living with her parents at 377 High Street, Walton.

 

Buried at Labuan War Cemetery, Malaysia.

 

Philip's brother in law Reginald Thomas Black was killed when the plane he was wireless operator / air gunner on crashed into the sea after being hit 18 Dec 1939, he is commemorated on the Haverhill memorial.
