Driver 5836766, 102 Sub Area Signal Section, Royal Corps of Signals. Died 08/12/1944. Age 19.

 

Born 31st January 1925, at Walton, the eldest of three children of Robert John Crawford and Annie Helena Georgina nee Caine. In 1939 the family were living at 98 Maidstone Road, Walton.

 

Reported as wounded 8th June 1944, North West Europe, presumably this occurred during the D Day offensive. James was brought back to Britain & later recorded as died due to wounds 8th December 1944. His death was recorded at Newcastle Upon Tyne. Buried at Felixstowe New Cemetery.
