Aircraftman 2nd Class 910377, 605 Squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Died 4/12/1942. Age 26.

 

Born 28th June 1916 at St. Austell, Cornwall, the son of Hilton Thomas and Mabel Louisa nee Escott. By 1939 the family were living at 97 St Andrews Road, Felixstowe with Hilton Sr. owning a garage & taxi company & Hilton Jr. working for him.

 

Hilton Thomas was captured 20th March 1942 and taken to Hakodate Main Camp. He remained a prisoner of war until his death on 4th December 1942 from Beriberi at Kokura Military Hospital. He is buried at Yokohama War Cemetery.
