Henry was born in Walton in 1883 to George Barber, Eliza Barber. Henry had 4 sisters and 2 brothers, living in 1911 in Leopold Cottage, Orwell Road when he worked as a bricklayer.
He joined 2nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regt), 26516. He was killed during the Battle of Cambrai, 1st December 1917, aged 35 - this was the first large scale effective use of tanks in warfare history.
He is commemorated on Cambrai Memorial Panel 3 Stone L. Henry died during the same battle as Edward Alexander also of Felixstowe.
