Son of Harry Melton and Emma nee Lambert, born in Nacton in 1899. The family moved to 25 King's Street, Walton before 1911. Harry was the youngest of five children, Helen b. 1888, Maud b. 1892, Edith b. 1894 & Ernest b. 1895

 

Harry died of wounds 29th April 1918 and is buried at Crouy British Cemetery, Crouy-sur-Somme. On the memorial the initials are shown as "H S"
