George Gorham

George was one of 10 children of William Gorham and Mary Topple.  William was a General Labourer and died aged 42.  The family lived at 43 King Street, Walton.

George joined the army before the war enlisting in the 3rd Seige Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery.  He died on 31st May 1916 as a Sergeant, in the area of Ploegstreert Wood, aged 26. He is buried in Strand Military Cemetery, his headstone reads 'Gone But Not Forgotten'
