Private 26643, 9th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment, attached Worcestershire Regiment. Died  of wounds 12/09/1916. Age 24.

 

Born 1892 in Nacton. Son of the late Arthur  Rush and Charlotte nee Button, of Candlet Farm, Walton. His father died in 1906 and his mother in 1915. He had one brother and 3 sisters. In 1911 he lived at Brick Kiln Cottage, Hill Farm, Walton. 

 

Buried at Canterbury Cemetery. Private Rush’s death was recorded at Canterbury.  The inscription on his headstone reads “At Rest” - requested by Miss B A Rush (sister Bessie) 176 High Road Felixstowe.
